Feltham station is one of the closest National Rail stations to Heathrow Airport and as such signs in the station and timetables show Feltham as a connection to the airport. Connection to the airport is by bus and there is a small bus station located at the North Entrance. Starting in 1999 (with the renovated Feltham station) there were two dedicated bus routes serving the airport: Route T123 (for terminals 1, 2 and 3) and route T4. By 2000 the T4 had been cancelled and the frequency of the T123 was reduced. cite web |title=Transport Plans for the London Area |url=http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acropolis/7069/tpftla_h.html#Feltham. Eventually the buses were replaced with the already existing London Buses route 285 (which makes a slight detour from its route to serve the station forecourt). Route 285 only serves Terminals 1,2 and 3 and so passengers who wished to travel to terminal 4 were advised to change at
Hatton Cross(which is part of the Heathrow free travel zone and allows free connection between Hatton Cross and all terminals). When terminal 5 opened in March 2008, the route 490 had its route amended to serve the new terminal and, like the route 285, a small detour was added to its route to allow it to serve the station forecourt. The 490 only started making this detour after Terminal 5 was opened and by doing this it gives Feltham a direct connection to all five terminals. In addition to Heathrow buses from the forecourt also serve the following locations: Kingston, Heathrow(Terminals 4 and 5), Richmond, Bedfontand Hatton Crossand buses to more locations can be reached from Feltham High Street, which is only a couple of minutes walk from the station.
