"The Taebaek Mountains" (태백산맥 - Taebaek sanmaek) (1994) is an award-winning South Korean film directed by Im Kwon-taek.

ynopsis

The film tells the story of a small town at the southern part of Korea in 1949 and 1950, just before the outbreak of the Korean War.

Korean film scholar, Kim Kyung-hyun describes the reception of "The Taebaek Mountains" by South Korean audiences and critics as "lukewarm."
