Earl Douglas Stewart

Earl Douglas Stewart (born 1940) is a businessman and consumer activist in North Palm Beach, Florida, U.S.A. Among other companies, he owns a Toyota dealership that is operated in an unconventional, consumer-friendly manner. Earl Douglas Stewart publishes a weekly column in "The Hometown News", a south Florida newspaper, in which he provides consumer advice.

In July 2007, Earl Douglas Stewart ignited a rancorous nation-wide controversy when he ran Spanish-language advertisements( [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnrNYDI18VM] with English subtitles on English television. The debate that ensued involved proponents and opponents of current and proposed immigration reform. The controversy was covered by Susan Candiotti on Wolf Blitzer's "Situation Room" on CNN. The story was also picked up by Telemundo, Headline News, and many local affiliates across the United States.
