Anthony Gueterbock, 18th Baron Berkeley

Anthony Fitzhardinge Gueterbock, 18th Baron Berkeley, Baron Gueterbock, OBE (born 20 September 1939), aka Tony Berkeley, is a British peer and Labour politician. He was made a life peer in order to continue sitting in the House of Lords following the removal of the hereditary peers.

After attending Eton College, Gueterbock started a career in civil engineering. He joined George Wimpey plc and served as its Chairman until 1987. He then worked as Public affairs manager for Eurotunnel until 1995. He is now Chairman of the Rail Freight Group. He is also a member of the European Commission’s Transport & Energy Policy Advisory Forum and President of the Aviation Environment Federation, the leading UK non-profit group promoting a sustainable future for aviation.

Gueterbock inherited the title Baron Berkeley following the death of his maternal aunt in 1992. Berkeley was made a life peer as Baron Gueterbock, of Cranford in the London Borough of Hillingdon in 2000. He sits on the Labour benches.

He married Diana Christine (Dido) Townsend in 1965; they had two sons and a daughter. He married Rosalind Julia Georgina Clarke in 1999.
