Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera created by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber in 1970.
It highlighted the political and interpersonal struggles of Judas Iscariot and Jesus. The action largely follows the canonical gospels' accounts of the last week of Jesus's life, commencing on the Friday before Jesus and his followers arrive in Jerusalem and ending with the Crucifixion. Over the years, many stage show/album productions of the rock opera have made, including this version. This is a studio recording made by the original 1972 stage cast and was released in 1972.
