Bradley Darryl “B.D.” Wong (born October 24, 1960) is an American Tony Award-winning actor, best-known for his role in the Broadway production of" M. Butterfly" and for his role as Dr. George Huang on "".

Biography

Early life

Wong, a Chinese American, was born in San Francisco, California, the son of Roberta Christine (née Leong), a telephone company supervisor, and William D. Wong. [cite web | author= | title=B. D. Career

Wong gained attention for his Broadway debut in "M. Butterfly". The play won multiple awards, including several for Wong. He is notable as being the only actor to have been honored with the Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, [cite web | author= | title=53rd Drama Desk Awards | url=http://www.dramadesk.com/1987_1988dd.html | publisher=Drama Desk | date=2008 | accessdate=2008-05-19] Outer Critics Circle Award, Clarence Derwent Award, and Theatre World Award [cite web | author= | title=Theatre World Awards Recipients | url=http://www.theatreworldawards.org/award.html | publisher=Theatre World | date=2008 | accessdate=2008-05-19] for the same performance. He has had starring roles in "All American Girl", "Oz", where he played a prison priest, "Jurassic Park", where he played a researcher, and "," with guest appearances on "The X-Files," "Sesame Street," and played James Lew in Mystery Date." He was also in as Warren Drummond.

Personal life

Wong, who is openly gay, began a long-term relationship with talent agent Richie Jackson in 1988.cite news | author=Christopher Stone | title=B.D. Wong: Out Author, Actor and Parent | url=http://www.afterelton.com/archive/elton/people/2005/11/bdwong.html | work=AfterElton | date=16 November 2005 | accessdate=2008-05-19] In 2000, the couple had twin sons together: Boaz Dov, who died 90 minutes after birth, and Jackson Foo Wong. They were born through a surrogate mother, using Wong's sperm and an egg donated by Jackson's sister. In 2003, Wong wrote a memoir about his experiences with surrogacy titled "Following Foo: the Electronic Adventures of the Chestnut Man". Wong and Jackson ended their relationship in 2004. His most famous quote came from a question asked at a GLAAD charity auction. He asked, "Do you get it now?", in self-reply, he deadpanned, "He was straight..."
