Sea Wolf is a band led by Alex Brown Church, an indie rock musician based in Los Angeles, California. Church attended film school at NYU and was a founding member of a group called Irving in 1998. Many of the songs he wrote as a member of Irving didn't fit the group's style, and so Church began performing as Sea Wolf with a rotating ensemble of backing musicians, playing locally in Los Angeles and recording demos in Seattle with famed producer Phil Ek (Band of Horses, The Shins, Fleet Foxes). [ [ Biography] ,] Sea Wolf signed to Dangerbird Records in 2007 and released an EP and a full-length, the latter of which hit No. 24 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. [ [ Chart Positions] ,]

Sea Wolf contributed a song entitled “Song of the Magpie” to the audio book for Augusten Burroughs’ book “A Wolf at the Table.” Burroughs asked Sea Wolf’s Alex Brown Church to read the book and respond with an original song.

Most recently, Sea Wolf gained popularity as the band's song "You're a Wolf" was featured in a General Motors ad for the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid during the Beijing Olympic Games. The band's song, "Ses Monuments" was also featured in a Radio Shack holiday ad campaign in 2007.

In addition to Alex Brown Church, the other members of Sea Wolf are currently Lisa Fendelander (keyboards), Theodore Liscinski (bass), Catherine Odell (cello), Joey Ficken (drums) and Aaron Robinson (guitar).

Their song "You're a Wolf" has just recently been used in the Ford Malibu Hybrid commercial.
