Life

He was the nephew of Fulk Basset, Bishop of London [http://british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=33800 British History Online Bishops of London] accessed on October 29, 2007] . He held the prebends of Mora and Finsbury in the diocese of London before being named treasurer of the diocese by August 20 1257 [http://british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=33806 British History Online Treasurers of London] accessed on October 29, 2007] . He was Dean of St Paul's in London by January 26 1262 [http://british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=33801 British History Online Deans of St Paul's] accessed on October 29, 2007] . He was elected bishop on August 18 1262 but died on either September 28 or September 29 in 1262 before he could be consecrated.
