Jamie Stone (born 16 June, 1954) is a Scottish Liberal Democrat politician, and Member of the Scottish Parliament for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross. Prior to entering the Scottish Parliament he served on Ross & Cromarty District Council and Highland Council.

He currently holds the position of convener of the Subordinate Legislation Committee and a substitute member of the Health and Sport Committee of the Scottish Parliament.

Jamie Stone holds an MA in History and Geology from St Andrew's University. He is married with one son and two daughters, both of whom also attended St Andrews University.

In 2004 he was captain of the Scottish Parliament team in the TV general knowledge program, University Challenge - The Professionals. He and fellow team members Richard Baker (Labour), Robin Harper (Green) and Stewart Stevenson (SNP) beat a Welsh Assembly team by 110 points to 75 [ [http://www.blanchflower.org/uc/uc04pro.html 2004 Series University Challenge - The Professionals] ] . Both teams comfortably surpassed the record low score of 25 achieved by the House of Commons team in 2003 [ [http://www.blanchflower.org/uc/uc03pro.html 2003 Series University Challenge - The Professionals] ] .

Mr Stone courted controversy in the run up to the 2007 Scottish General Election by branding the Scottish National Party as "xenophobic". He later issued what is best described as a "half apology". [ [http://thescotsman.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=265512007 The Scotsman ] ]
