Luz I Madh

Luz I Madh is a located within the district of Kavajë, Albania. Luz I Madh is located at Latitude (DMS): 41° 6' 40 N; Longitude (DMS): 19° 34' 51 E and borders other small towns in the district of Kavajë such as, Luz I Vogel, Lekaj and Gosa vogel.

Its population exceeds 4,000 and is estimated to have grown to a population of over 5,000. Therefore, it is considered a town by Albanian standards. Many inhabitants within the region have emigrated to nearby Italy due to a lack of money and shortage of jobs. Just as in other Albanian towns and villages, Luz i Madh is made up of several large families whose backgrounds go back decades and even centuries. Such families include the Lecin, Mosha, Xhonaj, Ibra and Tufja families. Due to its high rate of immigration, Luz I Madh has grown more prosperous during the last 10 years. The effect of this can be seen throughout the district of Luz i Madh.
