Kim Helton (b. birth date|1948|7|28 in Pensacola, Florida) is an American football coach. He currently serves as offensive coordinator for the University of Alabama at Birmingham football program. Helton is probably best known as being the head football coach at the University of Houston from 1993 to 1999. At Houston, he guided the Cougars to a 24-53-1 record.

Helton received his Bachelor degree from the University of Florida in 1970, after playing three seasons as center on the football varsity. After a year as graduate assistant at his alma mater, Helton became offensive line coach under Doug Dickey. In 1979, he was hired by Howard Schnellenberger to serve as offensive coordinator for the Miami Hurricanes.

After Schnellenberger had left Miami for the University of Louisville, Helton moved up to the NFL, becoming offensive line coach under John McKay and later Leeman Bennett with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He later held similar positions with the Houston Oilers and Los Angeles Raiders. In early 1993, Helton agreed to join the Miami Dolphins as offensive line coach, but soon later excepted the head coaching position at the University of Houston.

In seven years at Houston, Helton only had two winning seasons and only one bowl game appearance. He was fired in November 1999. After Spurrier's dismissal as Redskins head coach in 2003, Helton became running backs for the CFL's Toronto Argonauts.

In January 2007, he was hired by Neil Callaway as offensive coordinator at UAB.
