Linwood, Lincolnshire

Linwood, Lincolnshire

Linwood is a small village and civil parish on the minor road, the B1202 road that runs between Market Rasen and Wragby in Lincolnshire, England.

It is part of a major woodland conservation area, and is a primary target area to promote and encourage the repopulation of the Woodlark ("Lullula arborea"), a native bird that has become almost extinct locally. As of 2005, the population had been raised to approximately 50 breeding pairs and 60 other male birds, after more than 15 years work. The work is monitored by Lincolnshire Bird Club.

Linwood forms part of the district of West Lindsey.

Linwood is the birthplace of William Lyndwood.
