Geography

Salem Township covers an area of 34.55 square miles (89.48 square kilometers); of this, 0.71 square miles (1.85 square kilometers) or 2.07 percent is water. Lakes in this township include Big Turkey Lake, Black Lake, Henry Lake, Limekiln Lake, Little Turkey Lake and McClish Lake. The streams of Mud Creek, Mud Creek and Nettle Creek run through this township.
