Hady Amr

Hady Amr is a policy analyst and author known for his work in the area of U.S. relations with the Muslim world and his focus on the Arab-Israeli conflict, Lebanon, Jordan, and the economic and social development of the Arab World. Biography

Amr earned his B.A. in economics from Tufts University before receiving an M.A. in International Affairs at Princeton University. He served as an appointee at the U.S. Department of Defense during the Clinton administration, at which time he helped to establish the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies at National Defense University. Since 2001, he has managed an independent consulting practice, the Amr Group. He also served as the founding Executive Director of World Links Arab Region, building a board including Queen Rania of Jordan and Elaine Wolfensohn of the World Bank, as Senior Advisor to the World Economic Forum on Islamic-Western relations. He is a former economist and a consultant to the World Bank and the United Nations.

Amr is the author of numerous publications including "“The Need to Communicate: How to Improve U.S. Public Diplomacy with the Islamic World”" published by Brookings. He has also been published by Newsweek¸ The Washington Post, and the International Herald Tribune, among others. For the U.N., he authored several reports, including “The State of the Arab Child.” He currently serves as a member of the Term Member Advisory Committe of the Council on Foreign Relations and on Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs Advisory Committee.
