Danny Moore (born 2 November 1971 in Townsville, Queensland) is an Australian former rugby league footballer of the 1990s and 2000s. A national and state representative player, his club career was played principally with the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in Sydney.

Club career

A Townsville junior, Moore's early career was in the forwards and joined Manly as a lock forward where he made his first grade debut in the round 7 clash of 1991 against the Parramatta Eels. He was switched to the centres at the start of 1993 season and became a regular first grader.

He was in the centres in the Manly side which contested and lost the 1995 Grand Final to Canterbury and the following year won a premiership playing on the wing in the Sea Eagles team which defeated St George in the Grand Final. In 1997 his season ended with a crunch in the last-minute loss to Newcastle Knights in the ARL grand final.

Moore played for Wigan in 1998-99 before shifting to the London Broncos for the 2000 English season. His final season was in 2001 when he played two first grade games for the North Queensland Cowboys

Representative career

Moore rode the crest of Manly's 15-match winning sequence in 1995 and made his State of Origin debut for Queensland as a centre. He played in all three games of that series.

In 1995 Moore was called into the Australian Test team as a reserve for the First Test of the Trans-Tasman series. He then took his place in the centres in the Second Test against New Zealand following the suspension of team-mate Terry Hill in a club match and scored a try in Australia's 46-10 win in the Third Test.

The same year Moore was chosen in Australia's World Cup squad. He made just one tournament appearance - a two-try effort in the 86-0 drubbing of South Africa.

He was selected at the State of Origin level again in 1997 when he played in game I on the wing.
