WLTK is a Contemporary Christian/Religious formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Thurmont, Maryland, serving Frederick and Frederick County, Maryland. WTHU is owned and operated by Christian Radio Coalition, Inc.

History

WTHU started when founder Vic Leisner couldn't get Orioles games at his home in Thurmont. On June 12, 1967, WTHU was founded and began carried Orioles games as well as an Adult Contemporary (would now be "Oldies") format.

WTHU also carries a unique distinction, it was the last 100 watt full time station to be licensed by the FCC.

On February 15th 2008, Radio and TV website [http://www.dcrtv.com DCRTV.com] reported that Walmer had sold WTHU to the Christian Radio Coalition for $150,000.

On June 9th 2008 the Christian Radio Coalition, Inc. a group of local Frederick County residents began operation of WTHU. The radio station is operated by a 10 member Board of Directors, 3 staff and an alliance of at least 12 local churches from various denominations, cultures, races and beliefs.
