American Indian Movement of Colorado

The American Indian Movement of Colorado (Colorado AIM) is a breakaway branch of the American Indian Movement. The Colorado AIM came to nationwide public attention in 2005 because of media attacks on Ward Churchill, who serves on the Leadership Council of the organization. Russell Means, another well known Native American activist serves on its Elders' Council. Recent activism in Colorado has centered on protests against the Columbus Day parade, held annually in Denver.

Colorado AIM supports Ward Churchill and maintains an [http://coloradoaim.org/wardpetition.htm online petition] in support of him.
