Zlatko Tomčić (born 1945) is a Croatian politician, former leader of the Croatian Peasant Party ("Hrvatska seljačka stranka"—HSS) and a representative in the Croatian Parliament.

After the Peasant Party won the 2000 elections in coalition with five other parties, Tomčić became the speaker of Parliament ("Predsjednik Sabora"). He was instated on February 2 2000. [ [http://www.ce-review.org/00/5/croatianews5.html Central Europe Review - Croatian News Review ] ]

As the speaker of parliament, he was also serving as the acting President of the Republic, due to the death of President Franjo Tuđman. He gave up the position of acting president on February 18 2000, when the newly elected president Stipe Mesić took office.

Tomčić remained President of the Parliament until December 2003, following new elections where the party lost seats and went into the opposition. Tomčić did, however, keep a seat in the Parliament.

In 2005, the HSS ten-member club in the Parliament split between a group supporting Tomčić and another one insisting on change in leadership. In the party election of December 2005, Tomčić was opposed by Josip Friščić and defeated.
