Baltimore Street-Fayette Street

Baltimore Street-Fayette Street

Baltimore Street and Fayette Street are a one-way pair of streets that run west-east through downtown Baltimore, Maryland and surrounding areas (both streets are open to two-way traffic outside the downtown area). In the downtown area, while Fayette Street is for westbound traffic, Baltimore Street traffic travels eastbound.

Fayette and Baltimore Streets are two of the most important streets in Baltimore's central business district, and are among those carrying the most west-east traffic through the city.

Fayette Street, which begins as "East Fayette Street" at Dean Street, and ends as "West Fayette Street" at Warwick Avenue, is the southern terminus of the Jones Falls Expressway (I-83). The Shot Tower is clearly visible from this location.

Baltimore Street, which begin as "West Baltimore Street" at Hilton Street and ends as "East Baltimore Street" at Haven Street, divides address numbers between the north and south halves of the city of Baltimore, though it does not run exactly in the center point of the city. Baltimore Street also forms the northern boundary of Patterson Park
