"Cavity Search" is a song by parody artist "Weird Al" Yankovic. It is a parody of "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" by U2. It appeared on his ninth studio album, "Bad Hair Day". The song is about a man's painful visit to the dentist and his subsequent root canal.

Notes

*The original song's titular line "Hold me, Thrill me, Kiss me, Kill me" is parodied into "Numb me, Drill me, Floss me, Bill me"."
*At 2:30 a musical bridge begins to play, and the sound of a dentists drill is apparent. Yankovic has stated that all of the drill noises in the song were from a genuine dentist drills (His own dentist in fact). Yankovic declared that he wanted to be as accurate as possible when making this song."Ask Al: February 2000" at [http://www.weirdal.com/aaarchive.htm#0200] ;retrieved on September 15 2007]
*All throughout the song Yankovic moans as if he is experiencing severe tooth pain. This is most likely a parody of the unusual moans Bono does in the original song.
*In "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me", the rock sound begins to fade out at about 4:20, only to reveal a more orchestral version of the song underneath. In "Cavity Search", the heavy rock music abruptly stops at 3:52, however a faint muzak-style version of the orchestral riff found in the original can be heard playing in the background amidst the sound of a dentist drilling away at someone’s tooth. After 30 seconds, this fades away.
*On a related note, Yankovic originally wanted to parody the U2 song "Numb" into "Green Eggs and Ham" (A song in which Yankovic recited various lines from the book of the same name). U2 approved the parody, but Yankovic was unable to get permission from the estate of Dr. Seuss. Yankovic wrote the parody in 1994, and it has been performed in concert during the Alapalooza tour as well as the Bad Hair Tour multiple times."Ask Al: July/August 1996" at [http://www.weirdal.com/aaarchive.htm#0796] ;retrieved on September 15 2007]
