Mata Sundari

Mātā Sundarī (Gurmukhi: ਮਾਤਾ ਸੁੰਦਰੀ, Shahmukhi: ماتا سندری) was the second of three wives of the last Sikh guru Gobind Singh.[1] Mata Sundari was the daughter of Ram Saran of Lahore, and was married to Guru Gobind Singh in 1684.[2] The couple had a child together: Ajit Singh.[3] She holds a special place in Sikhism for the role she played in leading Sikhs through the troubled times that befell on them after the death of her husband and sons.[1]
