As a youth, Richard Linn attended
Poly Prep Country Day School . He earned a Bachelor ofElectrical Engineering degree fromRensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1965 and a law degree from Georgetown in 1969. He specialized inpatent andintellectual property law in private practice at the law firms of Marks & Murase, andFoley & Lardner . From 2001 to 2003, he was an adjunct professor atGeorge Washington University School of Law . Linn was a founding member of the Board of Governors of the Virginia State Bar Section on Patent,Trademark andCopyright Law . He received the Rensselaer Alumni Association Fellows Award in 2000. He is a past-President of theGiles Sutherland Rich American Inn of Court.Inn of Court
