Bismarck-Mandan refers to the metropolitan area (known as the "Bismarck, ND Metropolitan Statistical Area") composed of Burleigh and Morton counties in the U.S. state of North Dakota. Its core city is Bismarck, the capital of North Dakota; Mandan, which lies across the Missouri River from Bismarck, is the second largest city in the metropolitan area. The population was 94,719 at the 2000 census.GR|2 US Census estimates the population to be 103,242 as of July 1, 2007. []
