Thunska Pansittivorakul

Thunska Pansittivorakul ( _th. ธัญสก พันสิทธิวรกุล), born October 22, 1973, is a Thai independent film director.

Biography

Thunska graduated with a degree in art education from Chulalongkorn University. Active as a filmmaker since 2000, his works have primarily consisted of short films, which have been screened at several film festivals.

His 2004 feature documentary film, "Happy Berry", won the Grand Prize at the Taiwan International Documentary Film Festival. His first 35 mm project, "Heartbreak Pavilion", won a cash prize in the Pusan Promotion Plan script development program at the 2005 Pusan International Film Festival.

A contemporary of Apichatpong Weerasethakul, he is involved with Thai independent film movement, and has established a website, ThaiIndie.com, to help promote the works of Thai independent filmmakers. He is a teacher in the Faculty of Communication Arts and Faculty of Visual Communications at Bangkok University and has written columns for several Thai magazines, such as the film magazine "Bioscope", "a day" and "Movie Time Weekly".
