Mike Spano is a current Democratic member of the New York State Assembly and Current Mayor-Elect of Yonkers, New York. He was first elected in 1992 as its youngest member. Due to the state’s redistricting plan, his seat was eliminated later that same year. However, he ran and won again in 1994, serving until 2004 as a Republican representing the 93rd district, which includes parts of Yonkers. After stepping down for one term, he successfully ran again in 2006. He is the son of former County Clerk Len Spano and brother of former New York State Senator Nicholas Spano. After running unsuccesfully for Mayor twice, in 2011 he ran for Yonkers Mayor again and won.
Spano is married to anchor Mary Calvi of WCBS-TV in New York City.
