Heather Farrell is a fictional character in the two TV-Series "Degrassi Junior High" and "Degrassi High". She was portrayed by Canadian actress Maureen Deiseach and has a twin sister named Erica Farrell.

Degrassi Junior High

Being like Erica

Heather was always the one who wanted to dress like Erica, but Erica was tired of people thinking the two interchangable and told Heather to grow up. When Erica french kisses a boy from another school who she met at a dance, Heather thinks it gross, so Erica calls her "dull", "boring" and "immature". Heather angrily accuses Erica of being easy. Later, when Erica is sick, the boy who kissed her asked Heather to go for a drive with him and makes romantic overtures to her, and kisses her. The twins both fear he gave them mononucleosis, but it turns out Erica had tonsilitis and Heather had sympathy pains. The twins reconcile.

witching places

When Erica read her horoscope, it said that she would fall in love and she did, with an 11th grader named Clutch. She had Heather ask Clutch what his birth sign was, Clutch later mistook the question and asked Heather out to a charity bowling day, she gave the date to Erica. Erica had a dentist appointment in the middle of it, so the twins worked out that they would switch places, when Heather got there she saw that Clutch was more interested in Lucy.

Degrassi High

Erica's pregnancy

When Erica was pregnant, she decided that she couldn't go through having a child, and decides to have an abortion. Heather is ethically opposed to abortion, believing it to be murder. She tries to talk Erica out of having the abortion, but Erica refuses, and begs Heather to come with her for the appointment, to which Heather refuses. Heather asks Spike, who had a baby 2 years ago, to talk Erica out of having the abortion, but Spike says it is Erica's choice. Heather decides that even though she disagrees with Erica's choice, she must be supportive and Heather goes with Erica for the appointment.

Crush on Wheels

Since the start of high school, Heather had a crush on Wheels, a friend. Following the advice of a magazine article, Heather and Erica held a party where Wheels and Heather end up making out. Wheels promises to call her, but never does, and tells Snake he doesn't have any romantic feelings for Heather. Heather and Wheels are very awkward around each other at school, Erica calls Wheels a "creep", and Heather bemoans the loss of her friendship with him.

Blaine and Erica

Erica starts going out with a new boy, Blaine, coincidentally around the same time that if Erica not had the abortion, she would have given birth. Heather begins to worry that Erica will get pregnant again and have to have another abortion, and when she catches Erica and Blaine making out at a school dance, accuses Erica of not caring what happened. Later, Heather confides in Erica that she feels guilty about the abortion, saying "I helped kill a person". Erica recommends Heather speak to a counsellor.
