Karamu

Karamu

Karamu may refer to the following:

*Karamu, the name of two localities in the North Island of New Zealand.
*Karamu, the Māori name given to two species of Coprosma found in New Zealand.
*The Karamu feast, held on December 31st as part of the African American Kwanzaa celebrations. It involves a vigorous style of dancing, especially to the tune of "All Night Long" by Lionel Richie, probably because of its African rhythm and mention of the feast in the lyrics ("Were going to party, Karamu, fiesta, forever").
*A Swahili word meaning "a place of joyful gathering."
