Elections in Mongolia

Elections in Mongolia gives information on election and election results in Mongolia.

Mongolia elects on national level a head of state - the president - and a legislature. The president is elected for a four year term by the people. The State Great Khural ("Ulsyn Ikh Khural", "State Great Assembly") has had 76 members, elected for a four year term in single-seat constituencies. Due to the voting system, Mongolia has experienced extreme shifts in the composition of the parliament after the 1996, 2000, and 2004 elections. It has therefore changed to a more proportional system. A total of 76 new parliament members have been elected from 26 electoral districts throughout the country at the 29th, 2008 elections.

Dominant Parties are the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP or MAXН), the Democratic Party (DP or AН), the Civil Will Party (ИЗН), and the Republican Party (БНН).
