Broadway/Washington Avenue Line

Broadway/Washington Avenue Line

The Broadway/Washington Avenue Line is a proposed streetcar line in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It would run along West Broadway (Hennepin County Road 81) and Washington Avenue from the Robbinsdale Transit Center to ether Nicollet Mall and 5th Street or Park Avenue and 5th Street in Downtown Minneapolis, depending on the final configuration.

The line would be 11.4 miles long. The "track" would cost approximately $135,000,000. The total cost would also include a maintenance facility and streetcars, so that cost would be significantly higher. It would probably be closer to $165,000,000.

Other proposed streetcar lines that the Broadway/Washington Avenue Line would intersect include:

* Hennepin Avenue Line (Downtown Minneapolis)
* Central Avenue Line (Downtown Minneapolis
* Nicollet Mall Line (Downtown Minneapolis)
* Hiawatha Light Rail Line"' (Southern terminus, only if Nicollet/5th Street configuration is chosen)

Estimated ridership for the line would be approximately 4,500 to 5,500 weekday riders.
