"Can't Help But Wait" is the second single from the Trey Songz album "Trey Day". The song is written by Johnta Austin and can currently be heard on his myspace page. On the issue date of October 6, 2007, the single debuted on the "Billboard" Hot 100 at number 99. American actor Jackie Long ("ATL") appears in the video as the abusive boyfriend. "Can't Help but Wait" is Trey Songz biggest hit to date, peaking within the Top 20 of the Hot 100 at #14, and is still on the rise on the chart. His highest peaking solo song before "Can't Help but Wait" was "Gotta Go", peaking at #68. This video was filmed in Jersey City, New Jersey.


In 2008, Trey Songz released the official remix featuring rapper Plies, which will be on various mixtapes. A video has been made for the remix, though it has not been sent to television stations. It can be viewed on YouTube. It is also featured on the soundtrack to .

This song was remade in Japan by Japanese Hip-Hop group, Ya-kyim.

There is also a Desert Storm Remix made with Miami Rapper Rick Ross with a new beat produced by DJ Clue.

Another remix with Lil Wayne has been done, with a new beat, produced by (Da Honorable C.N.O.T.E.).

A Reggae remix was also done, featuring Mr. Vegas.
