It is a Parker through truss bridge with two truss spans and rides on rails to accommodate the everchanging banks of theRed River of the North . The Sorlie Memorial Bridge was named forNorth Dakota 's 14th governor,Arthur G. Sorlie . It was placed on theNational Register of Historic Places in 1999. In2008 theMinnesota Department of Transportation announced that it would begin replacing the bridge in2009 Fact|date=April 2008.Notes
