T. Alan Broughton

T. Alan Broughton was born in the June of 1936 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He is a poet, and an amateur pianist. He began teaching writing in 1966 at the University of Vermont until he retired in 2001. He has attended Harvard University, Philips Exeter Academy, and the Juilliard School of Music. He has received degrees from the University of Washington and Swarthmore College.

He is the son of Thomas Robert Shannon Broughton and Annie Leigh Hobson Broughton.
