Adrift is a Tampa, Florida based American heavy rock band featuring Jack Owen, current guitarist for Deicide, formerly of Cannibal Corpse, on guitar. Other members include Kevin Astl (Epitaph / Resurrection) on drums, Jen Parker (Animosity) on bass, and vocalist Dean Pskowski (Synapse).

Band History

Adrift began its musical journey in early 2002, as former Cannibal Corpse guitarist Jack Owen was looking to write a richer, more diverse style of music than the extreme metal he had been making over the prior decade-plus. He found other like-minded musicians, including former and current Resurrection drummer (and Tampa area entertainment attorney) Kevin Astl, and Adrift was born. Quickly cutting a demo in 2003 with much sought after producer Jason Suecof (Trivium, God Forbid, Sanctity, Chimaira), Adrift went on to much notoriety on blogs and forums everywhere when Jack announced his departure from Cannibal Corpse. Explaining that Adrift was where his musical heart was, the band began marketing themselves and their signature style of music, playing several high profile shows, including Big Spring Jam in Huntsville, Alabama (with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Switchfoot, Live, Tantric, Breaking Benjamin, Collective Soul and Future Leaders of the World) and 98Rock's Guavaween (with Saliva, Collective Soul, and Future Leaders of the World). 2005 was a growth year for Adrift, as it ushered in talented new singer Dean Pskowski, formerly of 98Rock and Miller Lite sponsored Synapse, and rock solid bass player Jen Parker, a veteran of the Tampa area music scene, having spent time with Animosity and Falling Forward. With a four song demo/EP recorded and mixed in 2005-2006 with producer John Hughes II (George Clinton, Parliament Funkadelic, Chumley's Toy, Joe, Patti Rothberg), a commitment to making music with an uncompromising vision and sincerity, and an energetic and impressive live set, Adrift is poised to achieve the success their long work and dedication have brought to their proverbial doorstep.

"Absolution"

In June 2007, Adrift tracked 14 new songs for an anticipated full length album, entitled "Absolution", at CB Productions Studios in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mix of the Adrift album will be handled by Mark Lewis (Producer) of Audiohammer Studios fame (Chimaira, DevilDriver, Bury Your Dead, The Black Dahlia Murder) between August 7-22, 2007. The mix was completed by Mark Lewis (Producer) on September 18, 2007. Mastering duties were handled by Alan Douches at West West Side Music in New York. Mr. Douches has over 6000 titles mastered to his credit.

As of November 2007, "Absolution" was being readied for release, with a proposed release date of November 20th, 2007. The advance single, "Back To Square One," posted on the Adrift MySpace page had garnered over 60,000 plays in just a week of being posted. The second single posted, "Held Down," along with "Back To Square One," and other songs, have totalled over 190,000 plays.

"Absolution" was independently released by Adrift (Adrift Holdings LLC) on December 1, 2007. Adrift has sold over 2,200 copies of the album. Adrift is currently negotiating with interested record labels regarding the formal release to radio and to the mainstream public of "Absolution."

Recent Endorsement Deals

In July 2008, Adrift obtained a much-coveted clothing endorsement from internet outrageous shirt giants [http://www.foulmouthshirts.com Foul Mouth Shirts] .

Foul Mouth Shirts specializes in rude, offensive and outrageous t-shirt designs, slogans, and artwork – some of which are geared to challenge political or sexual viewpoints, and some of which are simply humorous and titillating.

Said drummer Kevin Astl of the endorsement deal, "I've bought literally dozens of shirts from Foul Mouth Shirts in the past. They have a huge selection of some really crazy shit, for both men, women, babies - they even have hot nasty chick's thongs with funny and offensive sayings on them. Shipping and service are always quick and cheap. Their shirts are high quality cotton and last forever. I've taken every promo shot for ADRIFT and played every gig over the last 4 years in a Foul Mouth shirt, and we are very proud to add them to ADRIFT'S ever-growing stable of equipment and gear endorsers. Thanks to Cannon and all at Foul Mouth for their bold vision and belief in ADRIFT. Check out their site for shirts that will definitely challenge most people, make awesome humorous conversation, and raise eyebrows."

Jack Owen, no stranger to extreme shirts with the Vincent Locke artwork from Cannibal Corpse days, said "It's a pleasure dealing with Foulmouthshirts.com. We've been associated with them for a couple years now, and it's great to make it official. Can you beat a company that sells a shirt that says 'What The Fuck Would Jesus Do' on it? They rule!"
