Afonso II of Kongo

Afonso II of Kongo

Afonso II Mpemba a Nzinga was a ruler of the Kingdom of Kongo.

Biography

Little is known about Afonso II or his reign other than it was short. He ruled Kongo for a period in 1561 before being replaced by Bernardo I. According to at least one account, Afonso II may have been the illegitimate son of Diogo I.
