Stephen South (born 19 February 1952 in Harrow, Middlesex) is a British former racing driver from England. He was educated at Harrow County School for Boys.

He is chiefly known for winning the 1977 British Formula Three Championship. His only Formula One entry was at the 1980 United States Grand Prix West with McLaren subbing for an injured Alain Prost, but he failed to qualify. His career was abruptly ended later that year when he suffered the amputation of part of one leg after a CanAm accident.

In the 1990s he was reported to be happily involved in business in London, and to have completely lost interest in motorsport. In 2008 he was seen at a handful of historic motorsport meetings.
