Vadodara Stock Exchange

Vadodara Stock Exchange or VSE is located in the city of Vadodara in Western India. It was established in 1990 at Baroda. It is the third stock exchange in the state of Gujarat after Ahmedabad and Rajkot. in the western part of the country. It is recognized by Securities Contract (Regulations) Act, 1956 as permanent stock exchange.

From a humble beginnings in 1986 as the Vadodara Stock Brokers' Association comprising of 150 members, it got incorporated on 22nd January 1990 as Vadodara Stock Exchange Limited. By 1999-2000, the exchange had a total of 321 brokers, out of which 65 were corporate brokers. Among 321 brokers, it was further classified as 253 proprietor broker, 3 partnership broker and 65 corporate broker. Then, there was only 85 sub-brokers registered.

Shri Sudhir N. Shah

Shri Sudhir N. Shah is Shareholder Director and presently Chairman of VSEL. Shri Sudhir Shah has done his B.E(Hons.) in Chemical Engineering. Shri Sudhir Shah is the Managing Director of Fortune Industries. Shri Sudhir Shah has been providing valuable inputs to various Statutory Committees of the Exchange. He possesses rich knowledge of Capital Market. He is member of Chemical Association of India and a member of Chemical Engineering of India. He has widely traveled worldwide.

Shri Parimal D. Nathwani

Shri Parimal D. Nathwani, the Shareholder Director of the Exchange, holds Professional Doctorate in Management from National Institute of Management, Mumbai. He pursued his graduation from Mumbai. He is the son of Shri Dhirajlal Nathwani. His maternal grand father was the renowned freedom fighter and the first finance minister of the then Saurashtra state.

Mr. Parimal Nathwani steered his life as a business man and an entrepreneur till mid nineties. He joined Reliance group in 1997. He spearheaded several prestigious projects of the group from grass-root level since then. Land acquisition for the Jamnagar Refinery, setting up of petroleum retail outlets, setting up of Jamnagar Special Economic Zone, development of cross country gas transportation pipeline network, execution of Telecom network project for erstwhile Reliance Infocomm and setting up of consumer retail chain for the group are few examples. He looks after Corporate Affairs, Human Resources and Industrial Relation matters of the Group establishments in Gujarat.

He is holding the Directorship in Gujarat Petcoke and Petroproducts P. Ltd. and Shri Dwarkadheesh Salt Works Pvt. Ltd. Shri Nathwani is a multifaceted personality. He holds key positions in various prestigious institutions viz. Reliance Rural Development Trust (RRDT)-Chairman, Dwarkadheesh Devasthan Samiti (DDS)- Vice-Chairman (appointed by Govt. of Gujarat), Nathdwara Temple Board- Member (appointed by Govt. of Rajasthan), National Safety Council, Gujarat Chapter- Chairman, and Organization of Business, Commerce and Industries (OBCI)-President. He also remained Director, Pavitra Yatradham Vikas Board formed to improve and enhance facilities at all important Temples of Gujarat. Shri Nathwani is also an Executive Member of Lions Club of Jamnagar; Member of Rotary Club of Jamnagar, Jamnagar Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Executive Committee of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries. He is a permanent invitee in the Executive Committee of Gujarat Cricket Association. Shri Nathwani accolades include a coveted Award for Social Service and felicitation by the then Governor of Gujarat H.E. Mr. R. K. Trivedi.

Mr. Nathwani is elected to Rajya Sabha as an independent candidate from the state ofJharkhand.

Shri Jayant Sanghvi

Shri Jayant Sanghvi is Shareholder Director of the Exchange. Shri Sanghvi is an alumnus of IIT Powai and Managing Director of Pratham Enterprises, which has interest in real estate as well as in securities trading. Mr. Sanghvi also happens to be the promoter of Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Limited, one of the Index Company on the Indian bourses, having market captialisation of more than Rs.300 billion and spread of business over 30 countries, manufacturing facilities at 15 countries in three continents. Under his dynamic leadership, Pratham has emerged as one of the leading real estate developer in the State of Gujarat, moreover Pratham is well known for ethical standards and quality residential housing.

Shri Krupesh Patel

Shri Krupesh Patel is Shareholder Director of VSEL. Shri Patel has done his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Shri Patel is the Managing Director of Amod Stamping Pvt. Ltd. He has over 30 years experience in Business field. Shri Krupesh Patel is associated with Subhanpura Jain Dharmik Dharmada Trust.

Shri Mukundbhai Patel

Shri Mukundbhai Patel is Science Graduate from M. S. University, Vadodara.

Shri Rajesh G. Sampat is Shareholder Director of the Exchange. Mr. Sampat has done his B.Tech (Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering from Institute of Technology, BHU, Varanasi and subsequently did his Post Graduation in Management (P.G.D.M.) from I.I.M. Bangalore. Mr. Sampat is the Managing Director of Optima Diamond Tools Pvt. Ltd. and Optima Machinery Pvt. Ltd. Optima is the pioneer of diamond wire concept in India which is used for granite and marble quarrying.

Shri Ketan B. Shah

Shri Ketan B. Shah is Trading Member Director of the Exchange. Shri Ketan Shah is a Commerce Graduate. He is one of the founder Members of the Exchange. He held the position of Director of the Exchange in the past also. He was instrumental in implementing technological development and automation in the Exchange. He is engaged in stock market related activities since 1992. He is holding Directorship in SDFC Securities Ltd. and Vinay Capital Ltd. He is also the Trading Member Director in the subsidiary of the Exchange.

Shri Nitin H. Parikh

Shri Nitin H. Parikh is Trading Member Director of the Exchange. Shri Nitin Parikh is a Practicing Company Secretary and also having Degree in Law to his credit. He possesses rich experience of over 20 years in Securities Market. He held the position of Director of the Exchange in the past also. Shri Parikh offers his valuable guidance on various Company Law matters and legal issues of the Exchange. He has represented VSEL number of times at forums such as Federation of Indian Stock Exchanges (FISE), a platform to take up the issues of Regional Stock Exchanges and has attended various meetings with SEBI, NSE, BSE etc.”

Shri Deepak H. Modi

Shri Deepak H. Modi is Trading Member Director of the Exchange. Shri Modi is a Commerce Graduate. He is engaged in stock market related activities since 1987. He is holding Directorship in JMC Securities Pvt. Ltd., founder Member of VSEL and Sonal Share & Stock Brokers Pvt. Ltd. He was a member of Committee of settlement issues in NSE for a period of 3 years.

Shri Nilkanth R. Jani

Shri Nilkanth R. Jani is Public Interest Director of the Exchange. Shri N. R. Jani is a commerce Graduate and a Fellow M0ember of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He worked as a Executive Finance& Accounts in ABB Ltd. from 1981 to 1990 (10yrs), handled the matters related to Corporate Accounts, Consolidation and merger activities, Foreign Collaboration and Royalty arrangements, Concurrent Audit of various units of the Company and MIS, Reporting. Shri N.R. Jani presently practicing as a Consultant since more than fifteen years handling the matters, Finance and Tax Adviser to the Corporate and Firms, Adviser to the Public Institutions, Banking and Finance Matters, Project Management and Investment Matters, Company Law and other Allied Matters.

Shri CA Y. K. Shukla

Shri CA Y. K. Shukla is Public Interest Director of the Exchange. Shri Shukla graduated with distinction in Commerce (1966) and Law (1968) from M.S. University, Baroda. He is a Fellow Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (1970). He is 37 years of post qualification experience includes 26 years of teaching experience as renowned academician in Finance, taxation and accountancy. 1000 of students coached by him in his Institutions ‘Shukla Classes’ have made successful career. He has served as a Treasurer, Secretary and Vice Chairman of Baroda Chapter of Computer Society of India. During his illustrious career he has worked as World Bank expert in Tobacco Authority Tanzania (East Africa) for three years.

Shri Dipak Raval

Shri Dipak Raval is Managing Director of the Exchange. Shri Raval is Fellow of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and Associate Member of Indian Institute of Bankers. He also holds graduation in Commerce and Law. Shri Raval has over 20 years of experience with Industries in the field of Company Law, Secretarial matters, Corporate Laws and Securities Laws. Under his leadership the process of Corporatisation and Demutualisation of the Exchange has successfully completed. Prior to joining the Exchange, he was CEO of the subsidiary of this Exchange.
