Movement of Organized Nationalist Action (Spanish: Movimiento de Acción Nacionalista Organizado, MANO, "Hand", also MANO BLANCO, "White Hand") was a Guatemalan para-military grouping. The group was close to the Guatemalan army, and included clandestine support from the National Liberation Movement (MLN).
Similarly named movements existed across Central and South America. Inside Guatemala, other anti-communist insurgencies were present, which were even closer to the army, they included Movimiento Anticomunista de Guatemala (MAG) and Nueva Organización Anticomunista (NOA).
Included in the deaths caused by MANO is César Montenegro Paniagua, a communist politician who was killed as revenge for the killing of West German ambassador Karl von Spreti by FAR guerrillas.[1]
