"Think for Yourself" is a song by the 1960s rock group The Beatles which first appeared on the 1965 album "Rubber Soul". It is written and sung by George Harrison and is a warning against listening to lies, unlike the misconception that the song is about his then-girlfriend (and later wife) Pattie Boyd. In his book "I Me Mine" he writes, "But all this time later, I don't quite recall who inspired that tune. Probably the government."

The song is in a key of G major.

The song is a notable example of an early use of the fuzzbox on an electric bass.

Trivia

*The line "and you've got time to rectify" from a rehearsal take is featured in the film "Yellow Submarine", where it is used to revive Pepperland's mayor.
