Seven Against the Sea

"Seven Against the Sea" is a 1962 one-hour dramatic installment of the prestigious anthology series "Alcoa Presents," hosted by Fred Astaire. The intense World War II naval drama, starring Oscar-winner Ernest Borgnine as Quinton McHale, served as the pilot for the subsequent series "McHale's Navy", which converted the drama into a half-hour situation comedy. "Seven Against the Sea" was directed by Bernard Girard, written by John C. Champion, and originally telecast on April 3, 1962.
