IRIS Behaviour Management

IRIS Behaviour Management

IRIS is a web-based behaviour and attendance management system for schools and colleges in the UK.

With IRIS you can submit behaviour concerns and records for students, manage detentions and attendance, look up student time tables, manage student exclusions, keep a record of the child's behaviour and record since joining the school as well as a number of other features IRIS has to offer you. The team at IRIS work very closely with schools to develop new features as and when needed.

IRIS is developed by Andrew Rose and project managed by Ed Whittaker of Parrs Wood High School. The initial version of IRIS was called PIMS (Parrs wood Information Management System) and was developed over the summer holidays in 2003 when Andrew realised a software framework he had written before joining Parrs Wood was the perfect development platform for the task at hand, which was to take a paper slip and create an electronic version to make analysis quicker. This initial version of what became IRIS was very well received and local schools quickly took an interest. IRIS is currently used by 59 schools in the United Kingdom, serving 4,341 staff and 107,451 students is gaining ever more attention largely thanks to word of mouth.

Manual data synchronisation in IRIS is now a thing of the past as IRIS now boasts an automated transfer utility that keeps the school core MIS system in sync with IRIS without the need for any human intervention after the initial set-up. The system is compatible with the two leading MIS systems in the UK, CMIS and SIMS.net.

Parents and students can also log into IRIS with their own homepage and student behaviour records will seamlessly transfer from one IRIS school to another if they move.
