Tenant tender

Tenant tender

Tenant tender is a process designed to provide good tenants with greater opportunity in securing a home. The process involves prospective tenants submitting a proposal to an owner, in which they present themselves as a package complete with rental records and the most they are willing to spend on rent.

Tenant tender is not an auction. It is a private process designed to provide prospective tenants with the opportunity to control their finances instead of allowing inflated rental prices to control them.

How it Works

Once the window to tender is closed, usually a week, property managers assess the suitability of each candidate. The process is dependent on the submitted portfolio and only one tenant will be contacted with an offer to lease the property.

Tenant tender is not designed to provide housing for the highest rent offered. It is created to provide greater opportunities for good tenants to secure a home and increase the chances for owners to secure a great tenant. Thus, it allows tenants to apply for rental property they may not have otherwise considered due to the limitations of their budget.

Property managers will assess the suitability of a client based on some of the following: ability to afford rent, previous rental experiences and adjustability.
