Wound Medal

A Wound Medal is a medal, usually military, generally given to persons wounded or otherwise invalided as a result of combat action. "Wound Medal" may refer to:

* The Austro-Hungarian Wound Medal
* The Austrian Wound Medal for Members of the Bundesheer
* The Egyption War Wounded Medal
* The Indian Wound Medal
* The Syrian Wound Medal
* The South Vietnam Wound Medal

In addition, other countries have or have had military decorations for wounded servicemembers under other names, such as the United States Purple Heart, the German Wound Badge of World War I and World War II, the Japanese Wound Badges (Shoigunjinsho) and the Jordanian Badge for the War Wounded.
