Mejia was drafted by the
Detroit Pistons in the2007 NBA Draft with the 57th overall pick. The Pistons waived Mejia on October 29th, 2007. Mejia then signed with theFort Wayne Mad Ants of theNBA Development League . On January 31st, 2008, he signed withOrlandina Basket of Italy's top pro basketball league the Serie A.He moved to the Greek League club AEL 1964 GS for the 2008-09 season.
