Guillaume Court [Guillaume de Court Nouvel, Guglielmo Curti, Guilelmus Curti.] (died 1361) was a French
Cistercian theologian and Cardinal [From 1338 [http://www.fiu.edu/~mirandas/consistories-xiv.htm] , with the title Ss. Quattro Coronati [http://www.fiu.edu/~mirandas/titles-4.htm] ; from 1350 asbishop of Frascati .] .He was briefly
bishop of Nîmes , and thenbishop of Albi , in 1337, but only for a year, asPope Benedict XII shortly elevated him to the cardinalate. He was the nephew of Benedict, who as Jacques Fournier had been abishop of Mirepoix active in huntingheresy in south-west France; and in any case was a countryman and supporter in these activities.Subsequently he investigated several cases of
Franciscan spirituals under suspicion.
