“Hotelschool The Hague” is an international university specialized in hotel management education. It is located in the political capital – The Hague where the Queen Beatrix resides. The main facility of Hotelschool The Hague is just 15 minutes by walk from the famous beach – Scheveningen as well as the student dormitory (Skotel).

Hotelschool The Hague offers the Bachelor Degree in English for International students. The 4 year Bachelor course results in the internationally recognized Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration in Hotel Management (BBA.HM). The school also offers a Fast track programme and Master programme.

History

*‘’Hotelschool The Hague’’ was founded in 1929 by HORECAF, the former employers’ organization in the hotel and catering sector. Over the years it has become one of the best Hotel Schools in the world, and is recognized as such by the business community as well as by the Dutch government. The World Tourism Organization has placed Hotelschool The Hague on its list of the "best hospitality training centers of the world".

*"In 2002", Hotelschool The Hague opened a branch in Amsterdam that offers exactly the same curriculum.

*Since August 2002 Hotelschool The Hague is a member of The Leading Hotel Schools of the World (LHSW).

*"In 2004", a comparative research study “Mapping Knowledge” by the Dutch Ministry of Education has shown Hotelschool The Hague to be "the best University of Professional Education in the Netherlands".

Entrepreneurial learning

Hotelschool The Hague’s curriculum is based on the principle of ‘entrepreneurial learning’. The lecturer acts as a coach, rather than as a teacher. Instead of lecturing he provides the students with tasks and assignments, gives them introductory lectures and assists when there is problem. This approach has drawn criticism from students, advocating that lecturers in this way shuns away from responsibility.
