Saurashtra Janata Express

The Saurashtra Janta express train runs between Jamnagar and Bandra Terminus stations. It covers 828 km in almost 16 hours. It is considered as a good train for its timings. It departs from Jamnagar 1:30 PM and reaches Bandra Terminus at 5:25 am next day.

The major stops for this train are Rajkot - Surendranagar - Viramgam - Ahmedabad - Vadodara - Surat - Valsad - Palghar - Borivali and many more stations.

The train nos are
* Bandra Terminus - Jamnagar = 9017 up
* Jamnagar - Bandra Terminus = 9018 down.

The departure time from Bandra is 5:35 pm in evening and it reaches Jamnagar next day on 9:50 am.

Constable Rajesh Kumar Yadav of the Railway Protection Force died after being taken off the Jodhpur-bound Saurashtra Janata Express at Ahmedabad on December 9, 1998. Robbery aboard the Saurashtra Janata Express

In 2004, police reported an arrest following a robbery aboard the Saurashtra Janata Express.The robber reportedly "showed a knife to one of the passengers when the train was between Jogeshwari and Vile Parle and robbed him of Rs 30,000."
