Fehmi Naji

Fehmi Naji El-Imam AM ( _ar. فهمي ناجي الإمام) (born 1928) is the Grand Mufti of Australia. His predecessor, Taj El-Din Hilaly, retired on June 10, 2007. Biography

Born in Lebanon, he arrived in Australia in 1951. He is currently the Head Imam of Preston Mosque in Melbourne. Controversy

Naji has previously denied that Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda were involved in the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York, United States.
