Rollin B. Sanford

Rollin Brewster Sanford (May 18, 1874 - May 16, 1957) was a U.S. Representative from New York, great-grandson of Jonah Sanford.

Born in Nicholville, St. Lawrence County, New York, Sanford attended the public schools.He was graduated from the Albany (New York) High School in 1893, from Tufts College, Medford, Massachusetts, in 1897, and from the Albany Law School in 1899.He was admitted to the bar in 1899 and commenced practice in Albany, New York.He served as member of the New York National Guard 1901-1906.He served as prosecuting attorney of Albany County 1908-1914.

Sanford was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-fourth, Sixty-fifth, and Sixty-sixth Congresses (March 4, 1915-March 3, 1921).He declined to be a candidate for reelection in 1920.He resumed the practice of law.He served as member of the New York State Board of Law Examiners 1921-1940.He died in Loudonville (town of Colonie), Albany, New York, May 16, 1957.He was interred in Albany Rural Cemetery, Cemetery Avenue, Menands, Albany, New York.
