Ian Mayes is a British
journalist and editor. He was formerly the readers' editor for "The Guardian " newspaper, and president of the internationalOrganization of News Ombudsmen . He has often written about his former role at the "Guardian" and summarized it in 2004 in the "British Journalism Review".He is credited with the discovery of the "apostrofly", "an insect which lands at random on the printed page depositing an
