WIN News is a local news service in parts of regional Australia, produced by WIN Television. Nineteen regional bulletins are presented from studios in Wollongong, Canberra, Ballarat, Rockhampton, Toowoomba, Mount Gambier, Hobart and Perth. [ cite web

History

As well as its flagship nightly bulletin, WIN Television has, in the past, produced a number public affairs programmes at its original Wollongong station, WIN-4, such as community affairs program "Roving Eye", and "Sunday Review", a weekly review of international, national and local stories. cite web

On August 18, 2006 WIN Television announced that Griffith's locally produced news bulletin would be axed and merged with Wagga Wagga's half-hour bulletin. On January 30, 2006 the network's Tasmanian news bulletins were moved from separate local and national bulletins to a single, half-hour bulletin featuring local, national and international news. This was reported by "The Hobart Mercury" as being due to the previous arrangement's poor ratings. WIN's main competitor in the area, "Southern Cross Nightly News", had, at the time, a 64.9% share of the 6.00pm news audience during the 2005 survey period. =Wollongong, Orange and Wagga Wagga=

"WIN News Wollongong", "WIN News Orange" and "WIN News Wagga Wagga" are presented by Geoff Phillips and Kerryn Johnston (Wollongong only), with sport presenter Amy Taylor, at WIN's studios in Wollongong. This news broadcast converted to the widescreen format on Monday 14 January 2008.

Canberra

"WIN News Canberra" is presented by Jessica Good, with sport presenter Phil Small, at WIN's studios in Canberra. Peter Leonard presented the bulletin with current sport presenter Phil Small until July, 2007, when Jessica Good took over as news presenter. This news broadcast converted to the widescreen format on Monday 14 April 2008.

=Ballarat, Bendigo, Gippsland, Shepparton, Mildura and Albury=

"WIN News Ballarat", "WIN News Bendigo", "WIN News Gippsland", "WIN News Goulburn Valley And Northern Victoria (Shepparton)", "WIN News Sunraysia" (Mildura) and "WIN News Albury" are presented by Denis Walter, sport presenter Sean Sowerby and weather presenter Jacqueline Taylor, at VTV's studios in Ballarat.

=Rockhampton, Cairns and Townsville=

"WIN News Rockhampton", "WIN News Cairns" and "WIN News Townsville" are presented by Paul Taylor, sports presenter Samantha Heathwood, and weather presenter Peter Byrne from RTQ's studios in Rockhampton.

=Toowoomba and Sunshine Coast=

"WIN News Toowoomba" and "WIN News Sunshine Coast" are presented by Marita Ramia and Travis McNamara, and weather presenter Davina Smith on the Sunhine Coast bulletin, with sports presenter Pat O’Shea and weather presenter Peter Byrne on the Toowoomba bulletin.

Tasmania

"WIN News Tasmania" is presented by John Remess (news and weather) and Colin McNiff (sport), Penny Tame (weekend news, sport and weather), at TVT's studios in Hobart.

Mount Gambier and Loxton

"WIN News Mount Gambier" and "WIN News Loxton" are presented by Sharny McLean (news and weather) and Mark Mooney (sport), at SES's studios in Mount Gambier.

Western Australia

"WIN News Western Australia" is presented by Natalia Cooper at STW's studios in Perth. Reporters are based at WIN Television's studios in Albany, Broome, Bunbury, Geraldton and Kalgoorlie, as well as STW's studios in Perth. "WIN News Western Australia" is the only WIN News bulletin to have access to a metropolitan station's facilities. Before the bulletin came out of Perth it came out of WIN's studios in Wollongong, it was presented by Kerryn Johnston and Amy Taylor presented sport. It was then presented by Amy Taylor and Matt Tinney presented sport.WIN News WA is currently presented by Elaine Jung. WIN's Western Australian reporters are: Candice Barnes in Albany,Christie Bell-Bray in Bunbury,Rob Herrick in Geraldton,Aleisha Banner in Kalgoorlie,Xavier Dhalluin in Broome,and Emmeline Brockman and Alison Miller in Perth
